We're Going To Africa!

News from BeeBo:  This summer I am going on tour - to AFRICA!  Actually it's a missions trip, but I will be going along to sign and sing with the children, and do all I can!  I have never been on an airplane before, so I am a little scared!  But I am so excited about being able to help children in Swaziland with HOPEALIVE268.  And Lorraine is excited to be going back to Swaziland where she grew up - it's been over 30 years since she was last there!  That's WAY too long she says!

Sign of the Week - HURT

This sign can help your child communicate how he feels.

HURT: Tap index fingers together near area of pain.

One of the great things about this sign is that it can help you know WHERE your child hurts because the sign is made close to the place where it hurts. If your knee hurts, you make the sign near your knee. If your head hurts, you make the sign near your head.

If you want to learn more signs for feelings, come join the MORE Sign, Say & Play Series starting Monday February 28th at 4:15 at Our Little World. Feelings is the first class!

Sign of the Week: ALL DONE

The Sign of the Week is ALL DONE because 2010 is all done! Starting with hands up, turn hands over and sweep outward. This is a great sign to use during mealtime, but it can also be used in daily routines such as "all done" playing or ready to get out of the bath. Think of the fussing you could avoid if your baby had a way of telling you they were all done without having to fuss and cry! Remember you can come learn mealtime signs with us at Sign, Say & Play Class. Our Winter session starts Monday January 3rd at 4:15 at Our Little World in Palm Desert. Getting ready for Christmas!

We are getting ready to share some Christmas signs and Christmas crafts at Sign @ Nine at 9:00 and Our Little Holiday Craft Class at 10:15 tomorrow morning at Our Little World. I can't wait to make Christmas Trees out of hand tracings and some other Christmasy things like an angel and Christmas wreath, can you?

Craft Class is designed for Toddlers and Preschoolers, 1-4 year olds, and for parent and child to do together.

Lorraine says: "Kids love to make things and the interaction between parent and child really develops vocabulary and language skills. Parents can reinforce these skills later at home because they were there rather than if they did it at a drop off program or at preschool."

So come along and have fun!!

Thanksgivng Craft Class Today

I'm looking forward to the Thanksgiving Craft Class at 4:15 today! We will learn Thanksgiving vocabulary signs and make a turkey craft or two! Come spend some quality time with your 1 to 4 year old learning and making. We'll be making turkeys instead of cooking them - much more fun in my opinion! Fall Family Festival this Saturday!

This Saturday Lorraine and I will be at the Fall Family Festival in Old Town La Quinta. No class at Our Little World, but come join us at the Our Little World booth at 10am and we'll do "Sign @ 9 at 10am"! We will also be doing an Our Rainbow World class demo and rainbow craft at 11 to 12. Hope to see you there!
